This blog is only for the log line, also called an elevator pitch, of your book. You know, the one that sells your book for you. One of the most famous log lines in history is: In space, no one can hear you scream. Now tell me you don't know what movie that's from and I'll tell you, you've been living under a rock for the last thirty years or so.
A great log line will make your book memorable. Please share yours with us!

Quote of the Week
Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions. Imagination is more important than knowledge. ~ Albert Einstein
Thanks Marybelle! Let me know what you think of the whole story. And thanks Lynn for giving me a chance to post Artful Dodging's hook & see what I catch. M. S. Spencer
LOL, Ingeborg! Thanks, Anne--Actually, I have toyed with combinations of all these: Murders, mistrust, misfits, misdirection, mischief, misunderstandings, miscreants, misdeeds, and misadventure. They're all accurate, but talk about a surfeit of alliteration! M. S.
btw, I'd love comments on the above ad line versus this one: Murders, mistrust, misfits, and miscreants—needlepoint artist Milo Everhart has her hands full. Can love bloom in the midst of chaos?
I like the sound of the log line - it really draws me in - especially since I like to read cozy type mystery books. The cover is just a touch busy for the type of book this sounds like though
If you are a winner, please email us at theloglineblog@gmail.com immediately to claim your prize and verify your email address. Each prize is drawn randomly from the total number of comments received. Prizes not claimed within 72 hours are forfeit. You must comment to enter. Please refer to our instructions listed in the left sidebar for more information. Thanks!
I do like the sound of this. Effective, because I'm off to investigate further.

ReplyDeleteNice alliteration, the first 4 "M" words making me want to check out the book blurb for more info.
ReplyDeleteShe sure does have her hands full
