1st Year Celebration - Day 1

Hi everyone!

Welcome to The Log Line Blog’s 1st year celebration!

We will be here November 3rd, 4th, 8th, 10th and 12th, talking about the blog and prizes, prizes, prizes. Did I say prizes? LOL!

Yes, we’ll be offering a lot of prizes. Our grand prize will be a Kindle Fire HD along with four $20 Amazon gift certificates. You MUST comment on the days mentioned above to enter the yearly contest. Only comments from these days will be counted toward the grand prize. All prizes will be drawn randomly, so the more you enter, the more chances you have. Now, your comments need to be more than one word comments. We’ll give you a series of questions to answer each day. No, none of them will be hard and all the answers will be in the content of that day’s blog. Once you have answered the questions for the day, please come back and tell us what you think of the blog, it’s growth and what you hope to see us do in the future. See...right there are 4 entries if you answer all those questions in separate comments. The questions of the day do need to be answered in one comment please as they are the ones that will qualify you for the contest. These comments will NOT be counted toward the monthly contest, ONLY for the 1st year celebration contest.

Today, I’m going over a few of the statistics from the site. We’ve had a rousing year and a fantastic number of hits. Our goal this year was to get 36,000 hits and I’m proud to say that we will more than likely hit that mark by the end of the year. Our average page views are 3,000 per month or 100 a day. Last month we had a whooping 4200+ page views and we were dancing in our chairs. This is so fantastic for blog in our mind we couldn’t wait to share our good fortune with you.

Now the posts themselves have had rousing success individually but the one that got everyone’s attention so far for this year was Freaks of Greenfield High by Maree Anderson. It had a fantastic 1300+ hits since it first posted on March 3rd of this year. If you didn’t catch that one here’s the link so you can check it out Freaks of Greenfield High. That entry is followed by Night of the Blue Moon , Silver Moon, Fluke, Dead Mix and Sea Change. Congratulations to those authors and the many more who had over 100 views for their books.

As you can see that is an eclectic mix of genres. We are proud of the fine mix of authors and books we’ve had during the course of the past year. Starting was slow, very slow and our first days saw only a handful of views but as time went on more and more people started to visit here. We were amazed that The Log Line Blog is viewed mainly through the Firefox browser. Also amazing is Russia is second in views only to the United States and we’ve had visitors from Italy, India, Japan and Austria among others.

We hope to continue to grow throughout the coming year. Please share us with your friends and  thanks for an amazing ride. Hope you’ll continue to share it with us.

Today’s questions:

1) What is The Log Line Blog’s hit goal for the year?

2) What log line had the most number of hits so far this year?

That’s it for today...see you tomorrow...thanks for being a great group of fans!
