This blog is only for the log line, also called an elevator pitch or tagline, of your book. You know, the one that sells your book for you. One of the most famous log lines in history is: In space, no one can hear you scream. Now tell me you don't know what movie that's from and I'll tell you, you've been living under a rock for the last thirty years or so.
A great log line will make your book memorable. Please share yours with us!
Each month, we will have a contest for a $20 Amazon gift card. The contest starts the first day of the month 12:00 am and ends at 11:59 pm the last day of the month. To be entered into the monthly contest, readers need to leave a comment for the daily log lines. Each comment is equal to an entry into the current monthly contest. The more you comment, the more chances you have to win but please, please, PLEASE leave your email address so we can contact you should you win. Prizes not claimed within 72 hours are forfeit. The Log Line Blog management reserves the right to not award the prize should entries fall below fifteen entrants for the month or if the majority of the comments appear to have no relation to the blog entry of the day. Address all questions to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for your participation!
We encourage your submission to this blog! Specific instructions for submitting are listed on page 2.
Trust me, they are easy and simple. There's no hidden rules...just submit like instructed...and you'll get a spot in our calendar.

Hope your Wednesday is going
wonderfully. My tip for the day is easy and useful.
How many of you wished you
could cut down on your Amazon link for your books? I know many times I wish I
could without using one of the many URL generators that shorten the length.
Sure, many of your marketing programs do like HootSuite, MarketMeSuite,
Tweetdeck and more.
What if you don’t have any of
those yet and want to make the URL smaller. There are two ways you can do it.
You can go through tinyurl.com and make yourself a new one through them. You
can also delete much of the Amazon link itself and still go to the purchase
page of your book.
Here are some examples from
my own books:
The link for my book, The
Harvester, looks something like this when you go to Amazon to copy it:
Now this is not something I
discovered for myself but from another author. D. Renee Bagby has a lot of
information on her site and even more when you talk to her. Go discover the
many wonderful things she has to offer at http://dreneebagby.com/.
If you are a winner, please email us at email@example.com immediately to claim your prize and verify your email address. Each prize is drawn randomly from the total number of comments received. Prizes not claimed within 72 hours are forfeit. You must comment to enter. Please refer to our instructions listed in the left sidebar for more information. Thanks!
